Whilst a large variety of
semi-precious stones are part of the quartz family,
there are many other natural and artificial stones and
minerals used in modern jewellery. An almost endless
list includes howlite - always naturaly white or grey, it is often dyed a blue causing it
to be easily confused with turquoise. Moonstone has its
myriad of shimmering reflections. Pau shells from New
Zealand, striated marble, glass and superb Swarovski cut
crystals, rhodonite and unique cloisonné beads add to
the infinite range of materials.
